AFC Burnley secures new home ground
We are delighted to announce the £2m Stanley Sports Hub will be our home for the season ahead.
Using their state-of-the-art 3G pitch and brand new changing facilities, we will be using one of the most attractive and impressive venues in the area.
With all the fantastic news of today, we are excited to see where our club goes from here and what the future is going to hold. It is our mission and ambition to make AFC Burnley one of the areas most attractive amateur clubs and develop on our existing good work within the community. Ben Reuven, incoming Vice-Chairman will be overseeing the media and marketing operations of the club, which has already been competently demonstrated throughout the creation of our fresh, modern website and club badge.
Reuven will also play a pivotal part in overseeing all aspects of the Saturday Men’s team, working closely with the management team, being familiar with the players and strategically overseeing the project to progress up the footballing ladder as a club, alongside his other duties as Vice-Chairman.
As a Committee we have been in prolonged discussion and feel we now have a clear vision of where we want to take the club, have put measures in place to start this process and now excitedly wait to see where the future takes our club.
On the recent developments, Reuven said “I’m delighted to be a part of the club once again, the potential in AFC is massive, we’ve got a long term plan in place not just for the season ahead or the next one after that that will hopefully take the club to the next level. Shane and I kept in touch after I moved away, we have a similar mindset and ideas on a lot of things on and off the pitch. The club and the players have a family mentality about them which is why I enjoyed being there in the past and why I’m looking forward to developing and progressing the club whilst keeping hold of the ethos and what the club is about.”
Chairman, Shane Hudson added “It’s a vey exciting time for our club and something which has been talked about previously, without coming to fruition. Whilst I carry other football commitments elsewhere, I am excited about the future of our club and with Ben now in place on the Committee I’m confident we can mutually support each other to maximise our skillsets. As a Committee we are extremely driven and eager to achieve certain goals and we’ve outlined how we want to do it, now is the time to do the hard yards and get the next pieces of the jigsaw in place. Our next task as a Committee is to identify an equally ambitious and driven management team to come and spearhead the Saturday side and be part of long term plans. From there we’ll work in a joint approach as Committee and Management team to recruit a squad of players that best matches what we’re all about to come and represent our club. The future is exciting and a lot of hard work has got us to this stage, I don’t believe there’s ever been a better time to be part of and get involved with AFC. Let’s see where our journey takes us.”
