AFC Burnley announces new charity partner
We are delighted to announce Church On The Street Ministries as our charity partner for the season ahead following our Act For Charity draw.
Church On The Street was nominated by Sean Horrocks and will now become our partners for the season, benefiting from exposure across our Saturday team’s shirts, promotion across our website and social media, joint working and club fundraising throughout the season.
Speaking on the new partnership, Chairman, Shane Hudson said, “We are delighted to announce Church On The Street as our Official Charity Partner. The work they carry out in the local community, the difference they make and they continually strive to achieve makes them an ideal partner for us to work alongside. Our club ethos is predominantly around a family feel, development of everyone and marries up nicely with the work Church On The Street undertakes. We are excited to get this partnership in full swing and together make a difference in the local community.”
Church On The Street undertakes regular proactive community action on the streets of Burnley, helping and supporting people with homelessness, addictions and poverty. In addition to this, Church On The Street undertakes regular food drop off services to those in need and during the Coronavirus Lockdown have been helping families who are unable to access online resources in lockdown by putting together education resources for homeschooling.
Speaking on being drawn as winners of the draw and becoming Official Charity Partner to the club, Pastor Mick Fleming says “We are delighted and feel blessed to have this opportunity to work in partnership with AFC Burnley. Church On The Street values the family ethos running through AFC Burnley and looks forward to working side by side to improve and support our community. God bless you all and thank you!”.
