AFC Burnley secured their first home win of the season after an impressive display against Water United.

Jonny Carlin, James Crorken, Mark Taylor and Aaran Smith were all on target as Sean Horrock’s men continued their unbeaten start.

Burnley started brightly and took an early lead when Carlin fired home after some good hold-up play.

The forward added a second midway through the first half, before Liam Harrison was denied by a fine save.

Dean Hardy then made a smart stop from close range, before Carlin headed over from Wez Hensby’s corner.

Connolly Steen was denied by the side netting, before Crorken finished off a clever set-piece routine early in the second half.

Substitute Taylor then scored a quickfire double as Burnley continued to carve open the United defence.

With 15 minutes to go, Carlin completed his hat-trick after beating the offside trap and slotting past the goalkeeper.

Smith then got on the scoresheet with a composed finish, before Carlin scored his fourth of the afternoon.

And inside the final five minutes, Taylor completed his hat-trick after another quick break.
