Hensby: We want to bounce back

AFC Burnley captain Wesley Hensby is looking for “a big performance” against Oldham Hulmeians on Saturday.

Burnley’s unbeaten start came to an end last weekend after a 4-2 loss at home to league leaders Lymm.

And Oldham will provide a tough test, having won their opening four matches.

“I’m expecting the team to bounce back on Saturday,” he said.

“We were slow off the ball against Lymm. We had our chances to win it in the first half but we weren’t clinical enough.

“They deserved it – they just wanted it more than us in every department. The best team won on the day.”

Hensby joined Burnley over the summer and has started the season strongly, getting one goal and six assists.

The midfielder believes the club has lots of potential and is excited to be part of the journey.

“I’m really enjoying it,” he said.

“It’s a good club to captain and a good group of lads. In the short space of time I’ve been here, you can already see the club is improving.

“You can see the direction they want to go in. It’s good for the people involved and around the club.”

Saturday’s game will take place at the Stanley Sports Hub (KO 2:30).
