REPORT: Bolton Wyresdale Reserves 1 AFC Burnley 4

AFC Burnley made it back-to-back wins on the road to book their place in the last four of the Lancashire Amateur League Cup.

Jonny Carlin, Shane Hudson, Matty Ashworth and Aaran Smith were all on target on a windy afternoon in Bolton.

Burnley took the lead midway through the first half when Carlin found the bottom corner with a clinical strike.

But Bolton hit back immediately with a composed finish after the visitors were undone by a quick free-kick.

Burnley restored their lead when Hudson tapped home from close range after the hosts had failed to deal with a corner.

Early in the second half, Ashworth slotted home a third after Dean Hardy’s curling effort was pushed back into the danger area.

Joe Cottrell then went close with a sweet strike from the edge of the penalty area but the ball crept over the bar.

Inside the final five minutes, Smith fired home a fourth after the Bolton goalkeeper had done well to keep out Taylor’s header.
